RESERVATIONS
Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible so that we can meet your specific trip needs.
We believe a visit by telephone is of primary importance. It allows us to learn from you first-hand your expectations for the trip and general abilities in the outdoors. A phone call gives you an opportunity beyond the brochure to assess our services and get an immediate answer to any questions you may have.
We have found it is very important to involve the entire party in the booking process.
Good communication with every one early on prevents misunderstandings and unmet expectations. We recommend that you have the other members of your party call us individually or put together a conference call.
Once the decision to book with us has been made the next step is to secure your reservation with a deposit.
DEPOSIT & BALANCE OF FARE
A deposit of 50% of trip fare per person will reserve any date of your choice that has available space. Reservations can be made by personal check using priority mail or overnight UPS or FedX delivery.
The remaining 50% balance of trip fare is due no later than July 1st.
If the final balance of payment has not been received by July 1st, and other arrangements have not been made, the reservation will be considered cancelled.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
There is a very small margin of profit in the outfitting business. In most cases under 10%. Cancellations are devastating to the bottom line.
After you have made your reservation we will likely turn away other clients for the same hunt. For this reason, and because it is nearly impossible to re-book canceled space after the big game licenses are sold out, all payments are nonrefundable.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Medicine Lake Outfitters encourages our guests to purchase trip cancellation insurance through their insurance agent or travel agency. This policy pays all non-refundable payments should you need to cancel your trip for any health related reason. Most policies also cover personal property loss and personal injury.
WHO OUR EXPEDITIONS MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR
Due to the rugged character of the country, the possible severity of weather, the inherent dangers associated with travel by horseback, and the physical exertion required in wilderness hunting, we do not recommend these hunting expeditions to anyone with respiratory disorders, heart trouble, or any condition that may be aggravated by altitude.
For wildfire liability reasons and in consideration of our nonsmoking guests we have strict limitations on smoking.
As horses are physically limited in how much weight they can safely carry we have a guest weight limit of 250 pounds.
RESERVATION FORM &
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK
At the time of booking we will send you a "Reservation Form." This form will help us choose the right horse, saddle and guide for you as well as alert us to any health risks you may have. The form also includes an "Acknowledgement of Risk" which must be signed and returned.
